Berlin Azucena Martinez Hernandez
"Chena" came to live at the Good Shepherd Children's Home on October 13, 1999. Her birthday is February 9, 1996.  She is very tiny due to malnutrition in her young life but she is still a little bolt of energy. She never slows down and is a delight to have around.
Chena's mother was a severe alcoholic and drank throughout the pregnancy causing Chena to be born underweight and unhealthy.  She was also very neglected by her mother after she was born.  One day Chena was found cradled in her mother's arms while she was passed out drunk in the street. Someone came and brought the child to the proper authorities.  Chena's father, who was also a severe alcoholic, died a year before Chena came to us. Several months after Chena came to the GSCH her mother also passed away due to alcohol abuse.
Chena is such a sweet little girl and captures the heart of everyone. She loves to run and play and is very energetic.  She is learning to obey and do well. She is doing so well in school. She is learning more about the Lord each day and to hear her pray is so precious. Her prayers are so sincere and from the heart.
Chena still needs your help, not only in prayer but also financially. For just $25 per month, you can help supply the food, shelter, clothing, education, medical and dental care she needs.
Can Chena count on you to help provide the necessities for her to have a full and meaningful life?
