Florinda Esmeralda Rodriguez Vargas
Florinda came to live at the Good Shepherd Children’s Home in July of 1999. She was born September 23, 1993. She lives here along with her three older siblings, Zulema, Luis, and Nolvia. She did not grow up with them but was being raised by her much older sister and her husband who lived in another village. When her father realized how happy his other children were, and how well they were taken care of, he decided to bring her here also.
Florinda's sister and husband were very poor and were having a hard time providing all of her needs. Florinda was unable to go to school because they could not afford her books.  She is now attending school and is trying very hard to do well.
When Florinda arrived at the GSCH, she was unhealthy, dirty, and covered with lice. Her back was scarred from her sister accidentally spilling boiling milk on it. She had never been taught to eat with utensils and had to learn to use them. Florinda had been abused physically also at the hands of her sister, husband and the husbands father.
Florinda is doing well here and is so happy. She is learning more about the Lord each day. Florinda still needs your help not only in prayer but also financially. For just $25 per month, you can help supply the food, shelter, clothing, education, medical and dental care she needs.
Can Florinda count on you to help provide the necessities for her to have a happy and meaningful life?
