Text Box: Jorge Alberto Torres Medina
Jorge came to live at the Good Shepherd Children’s Home March 22, 2001. He was born August 17, 1999. Jorge lives here with his older sisters Lourdes and Elvia.
Jorge and his siblings were found by Child Social Services after Hurricane Mitch devastated much of Honduras. Their home was destroyed and they had nowhere else to go so they began living under a bridge. The three children were living there with their parents, and an older sister and brother. The sister ran off and the brother died from food poisoning. Often their mother would go off and leave them alone. It is unknown what the father did all day but the mother would go out and try to sell gum and candy on the street corner. The children were very afraid because there was so much danger. Their father eventually died with unknown causes.
Jorge is such a sweet little boy and always willing to give you a big smile. He has captured the hearts of everyone here. He is beginning to talk more and be more outgoing. He loves to receive lots of hugs and kisses. He is very active and loves to play outside.
Jorge still needs your help not only in prayer but also in financial support. For just $25 per month you can help supply the food, shelter, clothing, education, medical and dental care he needs. Can Jorge count on you to help him have a blessed and meaningful life?
