Text Box:   Katherine Suyapa  Alvarez       Katherine came to live at the Good Shepherd Children’s Home February 8, 2001. She was born July 16, 1993. She lives here with her younger siblings Haylin and Francisco.       Katherine is a very sweet and outgoing child. She has adapted quickly to living here at the GSCH. She is very affectionate and freely gives hugs out to everyone. She is a very smart girl who does very well in school.       Haylin’s mother is very poor and unable to provide for her children. She works as a live-in maid where she receives very little money plus room and board. For a time her job allowed her to have her children with her but eventually she was told that only Katherine could live with her. She then made the decision to take her other two children to live with her parents in another city. She did not get to spend much time with them but on one visit she found that her younger daughter Haylin had been abused terribly by the grandfather. She took her children out of that bad situation and brought them to us.        Katherine still needs your help, not only in prayer but also in financial support.
