Text Box: Maria Ester Monjarrez
Ester came to The Good Shepherd Children's Home on April 16, 1999.  She was born December 9, 1995.
Ester is very prissy and loves anything to do with dressing up or wearing jewelry.  She loves to fix hair and play with make-up. She is a very sweet little girl and at times can be a little shy. She obeys very well and seldom gets into trouble.
Ester is a product of a casual relationship and the mother ran off after she was born.  Her mother is known to run with very dangerous gangs and is wanted by the police due to various crimes. Ester's father married a woman and would leave the child in her care as he ran the streets of another city. He would at times return home and for the sport of it, severely beat Ester with anything he could get his hands on. The child welfare's office has copies of photos that were taken of her after such a beating. She was completely covered in cuts, bruises and welts. One day the father returned home and found Ester alone and naked and no one was there to take care of her. He brought her to the child welfare's office claiming that he could no longer care for her and did not trust the woman he married to take care of her.
Despite the physical abuse that Ester has endured throughout her young life, she does not seem to carry any psychological scars.  She is a very happy and loving child.
