Text Box: Maria Fernanda Lopez Martinez
Maria Fernanda came to live at the Good Shepherd Children’s Home May 23, 2001. She was born June 5, 2000. She lives here with her older sister Heydi. They came to live here after Child Services removed them from their mother’s care for their own protection.
Maria Fernanda is a very precious little girl who captures the heart of everyone around her.
Maria Fernanda’s mother worked as a live-in maid. She would often explode with anger and take it out on her two daughters. She especially was cruel to Heydi. The girls were removed from their mother’s care when the hospital informed Child Social Services that their mother had burned Heydi’s little hands by placing them on a hot stove. All this because Heydi spilled her mothers employer’s perfume on the floor.
It is amazing to see the wonderful changes in Maria Fernanda. When she first came here all she did was cry. She seemed so unhappy but now she is just a bundle of joy to have around.
Maria Fernanda still needs your help, not only in prayer but also in financial support. For just $25 per month you can help supply the food, shelter, clothing, education, medical and dental care she needs. Can Maria Fernanda count on you to help her have a happy and meaningful life?
