Text Box: Thelma Santos Hernandes
Thelma came to live at the Good Shepherd Children’s Home February 15, 1999. She was born January 31, 1995.
Thelma is such a sweet little girl. She is very shy and quiet. She loves to run and play with her friends. She obeys very well and seldom causes any problems.
Thelma’s mother is mentally handicapped and lives in a mental hospital. On many occasions her mother would escape from the hospital, and on one of those occasions she returned pregnant. She does not know who the father is.
When Thelma first came to us she had been living with another family. Right away we notice that she was an extremely nervous and shy child. She would shake all over uncontrollably at times and was very weak and unsteady on her feet. She was very sensitive and would cry over the least little thing and eventually go hysterical.
She is completely different now. She is not as shy but stronger and more independent. She is not nervous like before and stands up for herself. Thelma still doesn’t talk much and takes speech therapy to help her more in this area.
Thelma still needs your help not only in prayer but also in financial support. For just $25 per month, you can help supply the food, shelter, clothing, education, medical and dental care she needs. Can Thelma count on you to help provide the necessities for her to have a happy and meaningful life?
