Text Box: Yolanda Melisa Carcamo Elvir

Yolanda came to live at the Good Shepherd Children’s Home in July of 2002. She was born Feb. 11, 2000. She lives here with her older brothers Rene and Denis and an older sister Ruth.
Yolanda is a very sweet little girl. She laughs all the time and has the sweetest smile. She seems so happy and content to be here.
Yolanda comes from a home destroyed by domestic violence and abuse. The children were severely abused by their parents and uncles. The children often had to dig in the garbage looking for something to eat due to living in severe poverty. The home was found to be very run down, without any bathroom facilities and only one bed with a deteriorated mattress that had a very unpleasant odor.
Yolanda and her siblings where taken into protective custody and were in a state of mal-nourishment. They have recovered well and hold a promising future here. They are growing in the Lord each day and learning more about Him. Now they are beginning to heal from the past.
Yolanda still needs your help not only in prayer but also in financial support. For just $25 per month you can help provide the food, shelter, clothing, education, medical and dental care she needs. Can Yolanda count on you to help provide the necessities for her to have a happy and meaningful life?
