Yordi Eduardo Oliva Rodas
Yordi came to live at the Good Shepherd Children’s Home in June of 2000. He was born May 1, 1994. He lives here with his older sister Ivonne and younger brother Jorge. Yordi is such a sweet boy and captures the heart of anyone who meets him. He is a Christian now and is really growing in the Lord.
Yordi’s other siblings lived here for a year before Yordi. Before Yordi came here we were warned that he was a boy very out of control and hard to handle. When he came here we told him the rules and really expected to have a fight on our hands. He was so excited to be here and out of the bad situation at home. Much to our surprise he has been very well mannered and is striving to do well. He seldom gets into trouble and obeys very well.
Yordi and his siblings lived a very hard life before coming here. Jorge and Yordi were left at home each day in the care of Ivonne, who was only about 7 years old at the time. She was also in charge of caring for three other siblings while their mother roamed the streets. Being so young and not having food in the house she would feed them tortillas, salt and sour cream each day. She was also in charge of cleaning the house and washing clothes. Many of the men their mother brought home often abused them.
Yordi still needs your help not only in prayer but also in financial support. For just $25 per month, you can help supply the food, shelter, clothing, education, medical and dental care he needs. Can Yordi count on you to help provide the necessities for him to have a happy and meaningful life?
