Casting the Net…
All over the world the pain is felt from the economy and things are changing. As dad to 195 children, I am called to provide the basics for them as well as my own family. Truthfully, in the flesh I am concerned, but in my spirit I know that God is always on time and His provisions are endless. Even in the times when crops fail and there seems to be no solution we can cling to the fact we are called to live by faith and not by sight.

I would ask that you commit to pray for us as you have never done before. Our Father says if we ask we shall receive. Commit with me to pray asking God to meet the needs we have in our school, home and personal finances. I truly believe that if you and I commit to pray and ask that God will hear and respond. As you pray Thank Him and Give Him Praise for meeting the needs we have. I am confident the blessings is already on the way.

Please pray with us and know God hears and has the answer. If he leads please designate to the “GSCH” or to Greg Vaughn if you would like to support us directly allowing us to minister Thank you for Praying and for Giving. Please give God Glory for Blessings to come.

Why…
"Why did they not want me" is a phrase I often here when I am talking with children and youth one on one. The names are endless of our children who for one reason or another were made to feel unwanted and unloved. To suffer through poverty is one thing but to feel unloved or unwanted is much worse. Even a poor child can be happy if they feel loved.

Just yesterday I sat with 13 year old Cristian G. as he cried saying “They didn’t want me, they don’t care.” His broken heart and tears broke my heart as I thought about how I would have felt in his shoes. He is hurt, he is angry and it comes out in rebellion. He is bitter and until he can deal with these issues he will not get better. I explained to him that we can not change the mistakes of the past but God loves him and has given him family here and the present and future can be changed.

His case file says he would frequently leave home for days at a time. His little house had no bathrooms, a dirt floor, where he slept on a cardboard box and often was not given food. I asked him if he run to the streets looking for food or a better place to sleep and he told me no. Then I asked the question I already knew the answer to… Did you leave your house looking for the love you were not getting? With tears falling to the floor he shook his head yes and began to sob.

Love is priceless and above all they want to know they are loved! Children who were not loved know they were cheated and develop great anger. Sometimes they direct it at us but we must see beyond that and do all we can to help them. Pray that God will enable us to teach them to love.

TWO LESS SHEEP TO TEND
Yesterday two more of our children returned to their family after spending 6 years with us.  Aida Alejandra Amador Zelaya, 14 yrs old and Astrid Mariela Colinderes Zelaya, 11 yrs old returned to live with their mother in the city. (photos right) Two years ago their mother told me she wanted to have them placed back with her. Conditions here at the home and economy is accelerated these transitions.
Both girls and mom had mixed emotions but mom seemed prepared with their educational plan laid out and a their beds ready.
These things are tough but we trust God to continue to watch over them and help them with the changes they now face. Life will be different but we know they have learned of God’s love and He is in control. Blessings, Greg

THE REST OF THE STORY...
It would seem in my haste to get the news out to you yesterday I forgot to publish page 2. Sorry about that - Bruce.

Thank You For Giving!
We Thank the Lord for each of you who have prayed or given for us, the children, home and school. Without you helping, giving and praying there would be 195 children still in need of God’s love. Each of you are an important part of this ministry as you listen to God and give of yourselves to further His kingdom.
Not only does your partnership with us bring love and hope to the children but it also touches the lives of our national coworkers and the families of the children under our care. Feel free to forward our letters to others so they might partner with us.
