THE SHEPHERD’S JOURNAL….    July 10, 2010

Hola Dear Friends,

Little children and youth all over the world live feeling there is no love and there is no hope. God has sent us forth to show them that satan is a lair and there is Hope and there is Love! And His Name is Jesus! In His Name we gladly serve……………..For His Glory, Greg & Eva
Isaiah 40: 11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Come, Give Praise….. For that which God hath done!!!  We are still lined up to return to the USA and sharing in churches the months of Sept and Oct.  Sept has only one Sunday completely open and Oct has a couple left.  Also the first Sunday in Nov. but it must be close to Hattiesburg, MS.  So if you would like to hear from us please let us know as soon as possible.

God has blessed each of us in different ways and He tells us to give of our first fruits with great joy and Thanksgiving.   Please pray that God will allow us to share where He has prepared others to partner with us in His work here.  There are great needs to be met but our God is Able to meet every need!

You can contact me at gregvaughn@thegsch.org to make arrangements.

A little child shall teach them………. Yes we as adults have a lot to learn about faith without reservation.  A few weeks ago a team came in and provided lunch for all the kids and workers in the home.  I was blessed to hear the story of how this lunch came to be provided.  God Bless Christian and Emma and those who answered!!

Christian (age 8) and his sister Emma (age 7) wrote letters to friends and family telling them how they wanted to help with a mission trip with Torch. The response was $6275 raised to purchase food for children in Honduras.  Simple as that…….two children decided to write letters, mail them and God used that to touch hearts and provide needed food for hungry children.

This makes me stop and think of how God used two willing children who were moved by the needs of other children.  They did not fear rejection or move forward in doubt.  They came up with simple plan and moved forward in faith and God answered with provisions.

Matthew 21:22 (KJV)  And all things, whatever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Ok so if two little children can do this what is our excuse as adults?  I think God would tell us we have no excuse.

Would you pray and sit down and write some letters on behalf of the GSCH.  Ask friends and family to help children in need of education and food by giving.  Could there be some brave adults or children who will say “I will ask for help so the children can be fed and educated.  We know God will bless you as you write and children will be blessed as people respond.  Don’t put it off……………...be blessed!

Riding the winds…………… of change can be a scary thing but when God is in control it can be exciting.   Children coming to the love and security of the GSCH are now of age and leaving to begin their life.  With that brings anxiousness and fear, normal response to the unknown.  Their fears are well founded but God makes the difference that can not be disputed.
As our youth leave we have mixed emotions, still seeing the 5, 6 or 7 year old that came to us afraid, unsure and untrusting.  Seeing what God has accomplished in many of them is a blessing and knowing it is time for them to leave and begin their life in the real world.
Here at the GSCH they are sheltered, loved and guided to the healing love of our Father’s Holy Spirit.  Our plan is always to lead them to the Love of the Father and be His arms showing them His heart.  While meeting this need we also must meet the physical need of the basics of life every child needs and deserves.
We know they must now walk their own paths, run and stumble but their faith in God will right them and carry them on as they spread their wings and ride the winds.

Isaiah 40:31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Success………… How do you measure success? Most of us have a different definition to the word success.  Our children come from poverty, abuse, neglect, situations that  almost cost them their life.  So if you ask us what success means we would say, “Seeing God change these children into healthy, thriving young adults ready to leave GSCH and make a difference for Christ in the world.”

We have been here through the years to love and hold them, while ministering the Love of Christ to them and we are indebted to you.  You who have taken time to pray, to give to the home, school or us.  You hold us up so that we might minister to these beautiful children.  So many have come to us and because of your love for the Lord and obedience to His word the GSCH has rescued many children who would no longer be in this world today.

Children like: Mirian 4 1/2 yrs old less the 10lbs and dying, now 15 yrs old, Oliveth 6 months old 6 lbs, happy and healthy.  Meylin 5yrs old tied in a sack and thrown in an abandoned lot, a beautiful child of God …………...the list has no end but God has provided these children hope at the GSCH.  Thank you and Please continue to help us rescue these beautiful children from the thorns of the world.

Items needed!!!  We have several needed items or funds to purchase these items.
1. Clothes, shoes, underwear and socks.  Size list is on our web site or by email.
2. Bath towels and washcloths.
3. Twin bed sheets.

We give Thanks to God and each of you knowing that He is touching hearts to give.

Two more are finding it’s a big world out there.
Alex Geovany Cerna Lopez Alex Geovany Cerna Lopez, soon to be 18 years old, has returned to his family.  His brother who is a strong Christian told us he would like to have Alex live with him and had added to his home so Alex would have a place to stay.  He also has his own construction business and could put Alex right to work.  Tears were shed but everyone feels good about this opportunity for Alex.  Pray for him and his family as he readjusts to living in the real world.
Justice Mahalaled Hernandez Torres Justice Mahalaled Hernandez Torres, 14 years old, has also returned to his family.  Justice’s family has improved their situation and he is living with his dad, who now has good employment, and his siblings.  Justice needs our prayers even more because certain issues in his life still remain to be dealt with.  Pray that the seeds planted here will come to take firm root in his life and he will allow God to work cleaning up  that which needs to be surrendered.
