Life is Good
Life is Good!

Hola (hello),
Things happen when God’s people pray!!! Prayer, fueled by Faith sparks action as we have seen over and over again throughout time. As you read this e-news, Pray in Faith and Give God Glory for all He is doing at the GSCH. Thank you for your friendship and partnering with us to help the children God sends to us...For His Glory, Greg & Eva

School Traffic... School days once again are upon us with our children and youth busy getting accustomed to the routine of a school week. Some happily working on homework while others day dream of the first holiday.
I can relate to that and well remember that I was in that latter category of faithfully watching the calendar for the first break. Only later in life I realized education is important and is the formation of the rest of our life. That is why we take so seriously the education of our children, seeking to provide every opportunity for them possible.  This year, after years of prayer and waiting we opened our first Vocational Class. It is a two year course teaching masonry work.  The 12 students in the class will learn to calculate materials, read drawings and build the building. In fact they will be adding classrooms on the school for further educational space. Pray for this new class and the funds needed to equip it. Uniforms, excavation tools have been purchased and we still need to purchase some tools, wheel barrows and materials to begin construction.  If God leads you to help with these costs please designate your donations as GSCA Voc. Class.

Room for two more… Two of our tias who take care of children resigned to care for family members so we decided to close down a casita since it takes 3 months to train new tias and funds are low. So we spread the children from Casita 3 out to other casitas and before we reopen we will give it a good remolding. For around 8 years now it has been home to 28 plus children and that means lots of wear and tear.
Casitas 9 & 10 have been a blessing to be home to several teams and now since Aug. casita 10 has been home to the kids from Casita 1 while it is being remolded. That job is almost complete and they will return to Casita 1. God always has a plan for His children. We praise the Lord we have casitas to move them to and know one day will all be filled.

Why… is a question often unanswered but is a common response to things that happen. You may remember the operation one of our boys, Wilmir Francisco, had and how well he was recovering. Well, in Nov., it was noted his infection had returned and the battle began with our nurses doing what they could to control it. Finally the doctor who did the surgery evaluated him and said it would be best to remove the foot and leg up to healthier tissue. So last week Wilmir Francisco went into surgery and doctors removed his foot and part of his leg. The doctor in charge said he was not surprised the infection returned since the nerve endings in Wilmir’s foot are not functioning well which affects healing abilities.
Please pray for Wilmir Francisco as he adapts to his present condition. He is doing well and God placed Jonny, who lost a leg years ago, to mentor him. When I asked Jonny to help Wilmir, he smiled and said “No problem…….I will help.” Jonny will do just that since he is an example of overcoming problems in life. With God on their side... the Why does not matter because He sees us through.

In the Beginning… Over half way through the Feb we can see the year zooming away. We started the year better then we ended it as God touched hearts and people responded with loving donations. Averaging together the funding of the home and school we still have a small debt to get paid off but know that is it doable.
However monthly donations are still too low to maintain current expenses so we continue to ask that you pray and share the need of the GSCH with others and give them the opportunity to reach out to children in need.
Startup expenses for this school year grew the amount needed to balance our budget. Now that we are running it is time to make up the red ink and work to establish a monthly income to sufficiently support the school and home. I know that this goal is reachable because it is a need the children have and God promises that He will provide for all our needs. Based on that we proceed making sure we are doing our part in keeping expenses as low as possible.
Please pray with us and know God hears and has the answer. If he leads please designate to the “GSCH” Thank you for Praying and for Giving. Please give Glory to God for the Blessings to come.

Thank You For Giving!
We Thank the Lord for each of you who have prayed or given for us, the children, home and school. Without you helping, giving and praying there would be 200 children still in need of God’s love. Each of you are an important of this ministry as you listen to God and give of yourselves to further His kingdom.
Not only does your partnership with us bring love and hope to the children but it also touches the lives of our national coworkers and the families of the children under our care.
