Honduras
Father’s Day is March 19.
We invited the father’s of students to come to the school
for the celebration. This may seem odd at first because
we are a school located at a children’s home. However, our school
is open to the community and the dads of those families were
invited. We had a good showing… 35 out of 39. Being in a rural
area, and during the week, makes it hard at times for the dads
to get off or forfeit work.

I greeted each father and thanked him for coming to the school.
(The thought being they took the day off.) They probably work
6 days a week and their children do not see them much. I wanted
them to feel comfortable and let them know we appreciate their
sacrifice.
Students from the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grades
did several things: singing, dramas, poetry, and synchronized
dancing. The school received donated Talladega ball caps which
we gave to the father’s; they work out in the sun all day so
that was a great gift for them. This is also one way we try
to reach the community and show Jesus to the father’s.
Good
Shepherd Christian Academy thanks all who donate to the school
and have responded to the Educational
Sponsorship Program. We
are all in this together to show Jesus to the
students and the community around us... God bless you all!
